The trip to Bangkok was about sixteen hours all told. We landed about midnight and got to our hotel safely. The Le Meridien is nice and modern I have been able to use the gym daily for a run on the treadmill and even used the saltwater pool. It is centrally located near a night market area and mini red light area. We have been offered some sort of ping pong match not sure why they charge for that.
Bangkok is a huge city with 12 million people a mix of modern hotels and buildings next to old dilapidated structures. Cars, buses, motorcycles and taxis weave in and out between each other like a well choreographed traffic dance. We saw a family of four speeding along on a moped as fast as the cars and tucks that surrounded them.
