We took the river today to see Wat Arun temple and reclining Buddah both off the Chao Phraya river. The river looked too rough for the in-laws so they met up with friends instead. It was sweltering hot because the sun was out but it did rain for a bit and cooled things down. The river is a working river with taxis, barges and tours along mixed waterfront that has yet to reap its real estate appeal. The river was also teaming with catfish of all sizes and fish food was everywhere. I asked why so much cat fish and why it was not fished for food and found out in Thailand there is a belief that Buddah protects the catfish so they are protected and they actually thrive.
